Art Director: Ryan Garton

Production Designer: Jamie McCall

As Art Director, Ryan Garton oversaw the development and execution of multiple large-scale environments across three sound stages at Paramount Studios. In close collaboration with Production Designer Jamie McCall, he led the creation of the 3D concept renderings that established the visual and spatial standards for construction, guiding cross-department coordination through final on-set delivery.

The reflective ceiling geometry was designed to evoke the movement of water, reinforcing the ship’s fluid architectural language.

The backlot cruise ship Leisure Deck — featuring a practical working pool, hot tub, and waterslides — was initially constructed under Art Director Nathan Ogilvie. Ryan developed the 3D model and concept renderings that defined its architectural language and subsequently oversaw its refinement and episodic evolution across an 18-episode season.

The Infirmary was designed as a high-gloss, precision-driven environment, where reflectivity and curvature reinforced the ship’s contemporary architectural language. Custom curved glass enclosures and radiused corners created a fluid spatial flow, while hand-painted wood graining elevated the material palette beyond standard clinical finishes. Switchable opaque film integrated within the glass partitions allowed treatment rooms to transition seamlessly between transparency and privacy.
